This courses is for anyone who have a business idea and want to start a business. This course is also for home-based business owners, established owners who are struggling and need help, or anyone seeking to improve their business situation.

​What is the Small Business Basic course?

ALSTNTEC'S Small Business Basic Course is designed for individuals seeking a foundational understanding of how to start and sustain a successful business. This course covers the key essential components including what it takes to manage day-to-day operations. This helps our clients make the right decisions and avoid unnecessary, costly mistakes. At the end of this course, students will be able to

• Understand what a Small Business is, its elements, owner responsibilities, and how to establish one.

• Understand the importance of 1) creating a Proof-of-Concept (business idea); 2) choosing the right business entity type; 3) understanding owner financial obligations, and 4) how branding, marketing, and sales can drive revenue.

• Understand the importance of licenses and permits to operate legally.

• Learn how to build business relationships and where to find resources and tools for additional help.

What is the Small Business Strategy Premium Course?

​ALSTNTEC’s Signature 10-Week Small Business Strategy Course Premium (SBSC) is the original and only course of its kind that caters to the need of new small business owners for the past ten years. This program aims to educate, prepare, and motivate  aspiring business owners who are ready to launch their business.  Our course offers comprehensive, guided training on how to draft a professional Business Plan which builds a solid foundation for managing the day-to-day operations. At the end of this course, students will be able to:

 

• Draft a Business Plan that succinctly describes their business concept idea and operation.

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of business structures, entity types, and owner responsibilities.

• Use Brand, Marketing and Sale strategies to generate sales and revenue.

• Identify key demographic markets to effectively promote their business services and products.

• Understand the financial responsibilities of tax and reporting obligations.

• Improve their personal credit to obtain business funding opportunities.

• Navigate the process of obtaining the necessary licenses and permits for legal business operation.

What type of business can I start when attending this course?

​This course can help our clients start any type of business entity such as Sole Proprietor, General Partnership, Limited Liability, Limited Partnership, Corporation, and Non-Profit.  This course caters to all types of industries such as Hair & Beauty, Medical, Transportation, Administration, Consulting, online, and many more.

How many days of the week I must attend class?

• ​The Small Business Basic course attends twice per week to participate in activities for five weeks.

• The Small Business Strategy Course meets once per week for 10 weeks. The longer weeks are necessary to complete required assignments and receive guidance from the facilitator.

Will I have a completed Business Plan if I attend the Premium Course?

A business plan is very complex document to write and can take quite a bit of time. In the class, we will teach you how to draft (write) a business plan and get it close to completion. However, the work depends on your "level of effort" to complete the required assignments and activities. The business plan is a "living document". This means it will be updated with as your business grows. We will show you how to write it and leverage it for business opportunities.

Will I be required to complete homework assignments to pass the course?

For the SBSC Premium, there will be graded homework assignments. These assignments bring accountability to the student to help draft the business plan and reinforce instruction taught in the class. All students must complete all assignments to pass the course and receive a certificate of completion.

What is the primary difference between the Basic and Premium courses?

The premium courses is for those who are ready to start the process of starting a business, while the basic course is information only.

Are there any group discounts?

Group discounts are given on a case-by-case basis. Contact us for more information.

What day and time will classes start?

The Basic course starts on Tuesdays for 2 1/2 hours from 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. EST

The Premium course starts Mondays for 3 hours from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. EST

What is the class size?

• Minimum class size is 5 to 15 students for both the Basic and Premium courses.

Where are classes held and who can attend?

• ALSTNTEC primarily service students in the United States.

• We only provide in-person classes in DC, Maryland, and some areas in Virginia in the afternoons. 

• All students must be a U.S. Citizen and 21 years or older at the time of registration.

• All classes held virtually in the U.S. Unfortunately, registered students who travel outside the U.S during class will not be allowed to attend classes because we are not licensed to teach students outside of the U.S.  ​

 

How do I pay for classes?

• Payment for classes can be done via our website. Full payment is due prior to attending class.  Partial payments are accepted on a case-by-case basis. If full payment is not received, the student will receive a refund less an $350.00 administrative fee for holding the seat and processing student registration.   To make partial payment arrangements, contact us via email at info@alstntec-smallbusiness.com.

Is there a refund?

Once a student has attended the course, unfortunately, there is no refund because we would not be able to refill the seat.

However, If a student is unable to attend due to a unforeseen circumstance, e.g. emergency or physically cannot attend, they can contact our office to attend a future class.
